45 Minutes of Locomotive Operation

Guest Engineers must arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time slot.

Fulfill that lifelong dream of being a locomotive engineer by booking your spot in our Guest Engineer program! This ultimate experience is perfect for the friend or family member who would enjoy getting behind the throttle of a real locomotive!

Upgrade your experience by booking a train car and caboose to learn how to couple, uncouple, and handle an actual train!

***All participants must...

possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
remain under the direct and immediate supervision of a certified locomotive engineer.
pass an in-person visual examination for fitness to operate the locomotive. (re: hearing, vision, alcohol, and drug impairment)
have appropriate attire, and personal protection. Including, a work shirt, long work pants, boots, safety glasses and a high-visibility organ, green, or yellow outer garment over the torso. Ear plugs will be provided for hearing protection.
MUST SIGN AN INJURY WAIVER and be capable of climbing, unassisted, up and down extremely steep steps onto and off of the locomotive.

Be sure to arrive AT LEAST 30 minutes before departure. We operate on Central Time (CST).

Due to the age and maintenance requirements of our equipment, the Ohio River Scenic Railway reserves the right to substitute passenger equipment and seating options as may be required to accommodate all ticketed passengers.
